We are located in the building that formerly housed the Seal Beach schoolhouse. Originally opened in 1915 under the name "Bay City Grammar School", the school was destroyed by the 1933 Long Beach earthquake. It was reopened in 1934, and re-named in honour of Mary E. Zoeter, a long-time member of the Seal Beach board of trustees.
