Vasco Cabral has been in the restaurant business since his mid twentys, right after he served in the Portuguese army. He started in London in a French Bistro where he worked for 2 years and went on to join the crew of Cunard Cruise Lines where he worked as a captain in the dining room and later becoming assistant Maitre D'. In 1981 he joined Bistro Twenty-Two as front of the house manager where he worked for 18 years. In 1999 he bought the restaurant and with the help of his wife Paula has had a make over in the decor that according to The New York Times is "sleek" and "beautiful".
