This watercolor workshop is an introduction and exploration designed for adults of all artistic abilities. Explore wet-on-wet washes to let colors flow and bleed into each other, creating beautifully unexpected effects. Using washes on a dry surface, you'll experience the reverse - control and form.
Introduction to Embroidery
Students will learn basic embroidery stitches and work with the teacher to convert a simple drawing to an embroidery pattern.Leave with a sampler and project in tow and with the tools to get stitchy with your own drawings! Supplies included.
Get a couple of friends together for a series of summer drawing nights that will have you getting your line, shape and shading on! Kayti will lead with a demo on the technique of the night such as blind contour of a still life, or contrast with white pastel on black paper.
Need a summery light popover for those nights out on your beach weekends or outdoor city bars with friends? You'll learn to crochet a small sample first to test your yarn, and then start the split-neck opening for a poncho-style popover and increase over the shoulders.
In the first class, get your hands dirty and learn techniques to create your own paste paper. This laid-back session will be followed by a tutorial on Japanese stab binding. Students will use their paper and new bookmarking techniques to make their very own journal. Some supplies included, others will be emailed upon registration.
