We have a variety of peels available at Birch Skin Studio. We will consult with you and determine the best peel for you and your skin. Depending on the problem of the skin a series may be recommended.
TCA Peel (trichloracetic acid)
Peeling can be performed at various depths depending on how many layers are added to help achieve desired results. A TCA peel can remove the layers of skin with uneven pigmentation while encouraging the grown of fresh skin with an even tone while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. When TCA is applied to the skin, it causes the top layers of the cells to dry up, crust and peel off over a period of several days to one week. It may take up to a week for this portion of the healing process to complete. When the old skin peels off, it exposes a new layer of undamaged skin, which has a smoother texture and more even skin tone. (This peel comes with a complementary post-peel kit). This peel requires a patch test and consultation at least 24 hours prior to the treatment.

Jessner's Peel
This peel combines resorcinol, lactic acid and salicylic acid to result in deeper penetration and great exfoliation of the outer layers of skin cells. This peel smooths and rejuvenates skin, producing results in treating mild to severe acne, discoloration, moderate wrinkling, and sun damage. The Jessner's peel is also beneficial for patients with acne, oily, or thicker skin, because it tends to decrease oil production and open clogged sebaceous follicles. It also contributes to the healing process of acne. Similar to the TCA Peel the top layers of skin cells dry up, crust and peel off over a period of several days to one week. It may take up to a week for this portion of the healing process to complete leaving smoother and more even skin tone. (This peel comes with a complementary post-peel kit). Alpha Peel

Beta Peel

Lactic Acid Peel Mask
This is a great beginner peel. This peel for all skin types, but especially effective for dry sensitive, thin, hyper-pigmented and aging skin. Lactic Acid decreases hyper-pigmentation and re-texturizes the skin. Hyaluronic Acid and Beta Glucan soften, smooth and hydrate the skin. There is little to no downtime for this peel. Includes cooling mask.

Enzyme Peels
Pumpkin Enzyme
Good for most skin types, including acneic and sensitive. Pumpkins have elevated concentrations of vitamins C, A, and Beta-Carotene. These antioxidant properties are a great source to help fight free radicals and aid in treating sun damage caused by overexposure. Pumpkins additionally contain healthy doses of zinc and potassium which are an essential foundation to nourishing the skin. The natural enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids found within a pumpkin help to exfoliate your skin and help rejuvenate the skin by replenishing essential vitamins and minerals, increasing the rate of cell renewal and promoting the growth and health of cells and tissues. There is little to no down time for this peel.

Microdermabrasion
Each Microderm includes cleansing, moisturizer and sunblock.
Microdermabrasion
The procedure will then begin with a light cleansing of the skin. The microdermabrasion wand will pass over each area of the face. You will feel a light suction and scratching on the skin. It should not hurt. Each area of the skin will be passed over three times. The session will end with moisturizer and sunblock. You can return to your daily routine right after having it done. Skin will look younger and healthier and feel softer. Microdermabrasion can reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It can also reduce hyper-pigmented age or sun spots and make scars less prominent.
