My name is Roger Bonsante, owner and operator of Big River Lawn & Landscaping.

I live in Middlesex County, NJ and have been a resident of Central New Jersey for over 41 years. In 1993 my wife Lucia and I established Big River Lawn Service with a single client. Since that first day in 1993 our business has steadily grown and we now service hundreds of clients throughout Middlesex County and Monmouth County, New Jersey in East Brunswick, Helmetta NJ Matawan NJ, Manalapan NJ, Marlboro NJ, Milltown NJ, Monroe NJ, Old Bridge, Parlin NJ, Sayreville NJ, South Amboy NJ, South River, Spotswood NJ, and many surrounding areas in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties in New Jersey. Lawn Mowing & Edging

Mowing services are conducted at correct cutting heights with razor sharp blades. Also included is edging of walkways, line trimming in those hard to reach areas, and maintaining the weeds and cleanliness of walkways and curb lines.

Spring, Fall and Winter Cleanups

Spring Cleanup - We begin our spring cleanups as early as weather conditions allow, sometimes as early as February or March. Spring cleanup includes, but is not limited to: Cleanup of leaves, branches and debris on lawn, in flower beds, etc. Removal of dead or damaged shrubbery.

Mulch

Mulch - Mulch is not only decorative, but also helps prevent weeds, retains moisture around shrubbery, and adds nutrients to the soil. Mulch can be applied at any time and comes in black, brown (natural), and red.

Planting

This service provides for the design and installation of seasonal annuals, spring and/or fall.

Aerating & Thatching

Core aeration is one of the most important cultural practices you can provide your lawn. We will aerate your lawn to help control thatch, improve soil structure, help improve growth pockets for new roots, and open the way for water and fertilizer to enter your lawn's roots.

Brush and Shrubs

This service is offered for lower bushes and shrubs. We can remove or install bushes, shrubs and small trees.

I must say I was very impressed with a few things #1- Someone actually answered the phone when I called. #2- I was able to get an appointment for a quote the same day (actually someone showed up within an hour). #3- Roger (the owner of the company) came and did the work the very next day because I told him I needed it done as soon as possible. I was unable to be home because I had to work, so Roger sent me pictures on my phone to show me the work that was done and to make sure I was completely satisfied. When I moved into my Old Bridge NJ home in 2004 the yard was awesome. The grass was plush and green, the shrubs were impeccably trimmed, and the landscaping was really gorgeous. It was a big reason we bought the house. Well it's 2011 and my yard is a disaster. As hard as it is for me to admit, I am one of those guys who has to first see if I can do it myself, and when I finally break something, in this case my yard, I call somebody to fix the mess. My wife knew Roger Bonsante from seeing him on her daily dog walking route. Roger takes care of her client's yard and it's one of the nicest I've seen in the area. She asked him if he could stop by to look at our yard and when. The first shock was that he actually showed up. I'm amazed when people set an appointment to gain a new customer and then don't show up. Why be in business if you're not going to show up? Next, when he did show up, he was 10 minutes EARLY. I nearly had a heart attack. In my personal experience this does not happen. I was already impressed with Roger's reliability, but what about my yard? That was my real concern. Roger immediately started to walk around our yard asking questions and taking notes. After a few minutes Roger explained to us what he recommended for our lawn, shrubs, outdated landscape, and even our Holly and Evergreen trees. He also recommended adding some flowers to improve our curb appeal and really was able to help us paint a mental picture of how great everything will look when he's done. He was also very honest with us about how long and what it will take to get our yard back to beautiful. Roger's honesty, reliability, extensive knowledge, and obvious passion for his work gave us the confidence to trust him with our yard's appearance. Having met Roger and because we have seen his work first hand, we know that Roger Bonsante is the right man for the job and we have already recommended Roger to three of our neighbors who need a little yard help themselves.
