Raised on a horse farm in South Carolina, Executive Chef/Owner Chuck Herrick is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte. He has extensive experience as a chef/manager in both Charlotte and Charleston, and his work has been featured at the James Beard Foundation in New York. Front of House Managers/Owners Alex Shaw and Craig Garceau, hailing from the United Kingdom and the American Midwest respectively, have managed restaurants and pubs from Amsterdam and London to the Queen City.
The owners met while working together in Charlotte’s historic North Davidson arts district (NoDa), and they have collaborated on every aspect of the restaurant to create a unique space that reflects their distinct personalities and experiences. They share a mutual appreciation for the European habit of lingering with friends over drinks and a great meal and hope that, as its name implies, Bask will provide an intimate meeting place for you to do the same.
