Bandito’s is Richmond’s place for Mexi-Cali cuisine. A mixture of traditional Mexican food with a fresher, healthier, more inventive approach inspired by Southern California style Mexican fare. Sean McClain ( Owner/Operator ) first opened Bandito’s in March of 1997 on the corner of Cary and Laurel Streets. The location later found it’s current home at 2905 Patterson Ave. ( Richmond’s Museum District.) in 2002. Through the years McClain was partnered w/ three other fellows at different times, but since 2009, he has been the sole owner. Bandito’s enjoyed popularity right out of the gates with there being very limited Mexican food options back in ’97.
