Bagby Pizza Company opened in October of 2009 in the Bagby Furniture Company Building. The notable historic structure is in a prime location, convenient to downtown's business districts and popular residential neighborhoods.
Bagby Furniture Company Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a four-story, brick factory building constructed between 1902 and 1907. Its exterior features segmental and jack arches above openings, and a corbeled cornice. It housed the manufacturing, warehousing and administrative operations of the Bagby Furniture Company, which operated from 1879 to 1990 and was a key player in Baltimore's burgeoning furniture industry.
The building is significant for its association with the evolution of Baltimore's furniture industry, and for its association with William Hugh Bagby, a major figure in the wholesale furniture business.
Bagby Pizza Company's classic food in a comfortable setting evokes the history and character of the building and surrounding community.
