The way the body moves and functions has been one of my major interests since high school.
I began my career in bodywork with ten years as a Physical Therapist in Hamburg, Germany. After moving to San Francisco in 2007, I completed the PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) Program for Physical Therapists at the Kaiser Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo, CA. Originally developed in the late 1940’s as a motor learning approach for the rehabilitation of neurological disorders, PNF is also a very effective functional stretching technique to lengthen tight tissue or regain full range of motion after an injury.
I draw from a solid medical background, with a strong focus in therapeutic work to help customize treatments according to the needs of each client. As a runner, cyclist, snowboarder and kitesurfer, I am particularly aware of the needs of athletes. I mix and integrate different styles and techniques into my sessions as needed according to my clients needs.
I also use organic, vegan, unscented massage cream and integrate a green lifestyle into the practice by drying sheets in the sun and using only biodegradable washing detergent.
