A few well-designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence, are worth hours of doing sloppy calisthenics or forced contortion.

Mark Gates
Mark is Comprehensive certified instructor through Peak Pilates® and has been teaching the method since 2006. He first discovered Pilates in a mat class and quickly embraced the entire method. After regular sessions, he began to recognize and understand the exceptional benefits of consistent Pilates work. In addition to his Comprehensive training Mark has completed Continuing Education courses in "Facets of Fascia", "Support, Stabilize, Step': Optimizing Our Feet Through Pilates, "Proprioception/Interception and Pilates", Advanced Chair, Barrel, Cadillac and Ped O Pull and is currently enrolled in "Discover*Move *Inspire" - an 18-month post- comprehensive program for an in-depth study of movement and teaching. Now Mark enjoys the variety when working with his clients, regardless of what brings them to the system - an old injury, the desire to improve posture, well-being, to become a better athlete or those that are simply looking for increased overall fitness. Mark has a keen visual sense of proper alignment and focuses on teaching a strong foundation of Pilate's movement. "There is a place for every body in Pilates"
Brooke Williams Howard
Brooke Williams Howard was first introduced to mat Pilates for strength and conditioning as a ballet dancer in the 1990s. In 2003, she began regularly practicing Pilates on all equipment at a local studio, and that is where her love of the connection of mind, body, and spirit through movement began. The Pilates studio is always her "happy place," so, she fulfilled her dream in completing the Peak Pilates® Comprehensive certification and began teaching with Master Instructor Nancy Gwinnell Hurd. Brooke is continuing her education through the 18 month Discover*Move*Inspire™ post comprehensive teacher program. Brooke truly loves sharing how the classical Pilates repertoire will lengthen and strengthen clients' bodies in all ages and stages of life. She has enjoyed working with a variety of clients, from a high school boy with scoliosis, to post-menopausal women, and many others in between who also love the benefits of a good, challenging Pilates session. Her personal favorite workout is the advanced, classical, Level 3 mat, but the Wunda Chair holds a special piece of her heart. Brooke's greatest joys in life are her two daughters, Ruth and Rebecca, and she is grateful to be able to follow her two passions, being a Mom and teaching Pilates.
Certification
Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification Pathway
The Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification is a three-level modular program that is designed to deliver the highest quality authentic Pilates education.
It is the foundational level of Pilates professional education which covers the mat, reformer, tower, chairs, barrels and auxiliary equipment. The Comprehensive Certification is a classical Pilates education program distinguished by an emphasis on Pilates as an integrated movement system as Joseph Pilates intended. Our three-level modular pathway to the Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification allows you to progress at your own pace. An extensive Teacher Trainer Network also ensures support and opportunities for mentorships that empower students to become effective instructors and genuinely feel part of the Pilates community.
The Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification prepares you to instruct a range of individual clients and group classes, and teaches you how to modify exercises for special populations.
The 500-hour Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification includes instruction in classical mat work and exercises performed on traditional Pilates apparatus. We use Peak Pilates® equipment, which preserves the integrity of the original apparatus designed by Joseph Pilates.

Testimonials
Dr. Rebecca Hoeck PT, DPT, CWC, DMI-MPT
Discover "Move" Inspire is a very positive learning experience with highly experienced instructors that will stretch you personally and professionally. We journeyed through the advanced exercise repertoire on mat, reformer and Cadillac/tower, dove into special cases, learned interesting and creative workouts (too many to name), developed youth programs, improved our teacher's eye and touch techniques, met the lovely Lolita San Miguel, and developed life long friendships with other Pilates Professionals. I highly recommend this program to take your learning and teaching to the next level!
I knew I needed to enhance my teaching skills and increase my knowledge in specific issues that went beyond the my comprehensive teacher training course. DMI is a great way to grow and challenge yourself as a Pilates teacher. Nancy and her team of master pilates teachers took me to the next level in exercises and teaching ability! In pilates you never stop learning. This is a great training program to add to you resume!
Cody Robbins, Performance Pilates Co-Owner/Instructor, PEAK Comprehensive/ACE Personal Trainer
The Discover, Move, Inspire workshop(s) are exactly what I needed to bring my Pilates teaching up to a new level. It expands upon what you already know, and has given me new confidence when working with clients with back pain, scoliosis, osteoporosis, or those who are pregnant. Here is where you get the super-advanced reformer and mat work, and a nice mat flow on the spine corrector. We got to experience guest instructors including Lolita San Miguel which I consider an amazing, unique opportunity that not everyone will get. The best part is being part of this exclusive group of strong ladies/instructors and learning with and from each other. During our business round table there were so many studio owners and so many great ideas were shared about building your business now matter how large or small. After an inspiring trip to Florida and visit with Lolita, these ladies will forever be my Pilates sisters, business network, and friends. It doesn't matter what certification you have. This is the program that will pull you beyond your certification.
Our mission is bringing the joy and health benefits of movement to a wide variety of people. We work with populations ranging from athletes to re-hab, youth to elders, and novice to advance. Here at Austin Pilates Barn we believe in the success of every “body”.
