About Us
Carmelo was just a busboy at the time in the once, Log Cabin Pizzeria located on Route 6 in Mahopac, when Artie came in and opened the doors to Arturo’s Pine Tavern. Originally from the Bronx and once Chef at the famous Frankie & Johnnie’s Pine Tavern, Artie created a menu of traditional Italian favorites, along with the famous “Arturo’s Salad and Arthur Avenue Bread,” served in what Artie called his “mother’s” salad dressing – red wine vinegar and olive oil.
