Capoeira is more than exercise for fitness, it is a form of performance art that through moves and countermoves displays and shares personal skills as means of self-expression. Capoeira as all martial arts demands commitment and dedication to master, in exchange it provides great overall physical form, community fostering and cultural enrichment. After the first class, you might feel like the the soreness is leading you to discover new muscles in your body, but it is a temporary state, within a week of training all you will feel after class is the exhilarating endorphins rush. Our capoeira class is open to students and capoeiristas of all levels. After a capoeira-based warm-up the students are divided in groups to continue training with drills and sequences according to their skill level. The focus of this class is to improve capoeira basics. It introduces fast-paced rhythms and acrobatics. Beginners can attend this class once they have learned the basic movements of defense/attack and in-betweens. The class is conducted according to the level of the students attending. Everyone can practice capoeira according to their ability and inclination. However, Capoeira is not advised for people who suffer: substantial heart condition, those with spinal cord and knee ligaments problems can practice under doctor supervision.

Not only it is a complete sport that develops and strengthen the whole body an but it also helps kids to develop a wide variety of skills including flexibility, balance and focus. Capoeira is also a precious developmental tool as it engages its players physically, socially and culturally. This class will feature coordination, exercise, play, rhythm and focus. Its unique combination of dance, martial arts and music is ideal to help kids grow with confidence, discipline and a positive attitude to life. The improvised competitive play of dexterity and felxibility will help children to think on their feet. Acrobatic moves and "cool" martial arts kicks motivate them work hard to achieve mastery of their movements. All activities are closely supervised by trained and qualified instructors. The combination of competitive and concurring play will help children to express themselves artistically within a social group. The collective elements are further reinforced by the music making as the young capoeiristas are introduced to several percussion instruments and singing.
