Since baseball is a game of inches, baseball players need elite training to get the competitive advantage for those inches. At Athletic Republic we have consistently proven that our speed, agility and power training makes athletes faster, stronger and more agile than our competition can make them. Getting 0.2 seconds off your 40 yard dash time can potentially put you at first base 4-5 feet ahead of where you get to now. Think of all the ground balls last season that you almost legged out. Throwing
Arm strength is a concern of every baseball player. We measure arm strength by determining throwing velocity or throwing distance. Our patented throwing cord has taken countless pitchers, infielders and outfielders to the next level by improving their arm strength. As a patented piece of equipment, this training is only available at Athletic Republic. In a published, peer-reviewed study of college-level baseball players who trained with the throwing cord for 12 sessions over 6 weeks, the average improvement on fastball velocity with the same accuracy was 4 mph! Athletic Republic is the industry leader in Hockey performance training—a systematic progression of hockey training programs appropriate for all ages. The programs are embedded with the science of properly developing hockey players, while safely taking them past their limits. It’s the application of increasing a hockey player’s stride frequency, stride length, skating mechanics, conditioning, power output, shot velocity, puck control and dynamic stability. And we consistently deliver meaningful on-ice results. Athletic Republic Hockey prides itself on speed and separation, knowing that in the "new" NHL (and at every other league, at every other level), speed and power dictate success. That is why, at Athletic Republic Hockey, we provide our players a program specifically designed to "Light the Lamp.” Depending on the playing season, every athlete completes between 12 - 24 training sessions averaging one time per week in-season and three times per week out of season. Over the course of the program, the training consists of the following key elements:
First Period: Patented Athletic Republic Hockey Treadmill
Training programs to build greater stride length, stride frequency and improved anaerobic hockey conditioning.
Improving stability and strength helps players complete an entire 45-second shift at a higher level, due to stronger edges, more power and increased endurance. Athletic Republic plyometric training sessions incorporate our patented Conditioning Cords and the Republic Box to increase first-step quickness, core stability, shot velocity and overall explosiveness. Athletes have gained as much as 8 mph on their shots.
Third Period: Stick Handling and Reaction Drills
Utilizing the Giles stick-handling pattern, Athletic Republic created a collection of stick handling drills to improve a player's range and speed of motion. Training Centers with synthetic ice and/or a shooting gallery also provide scoring touch and shooting technique instruction.
In-season Hockey Team Training Programs
Athletic Republic's team training program over the course of an 11 – 22 week hockey season improves overall team speed, power and quickness - rendering the competition helpless in the 3rd period. Typically, the Team Training Program begins in early September and runs in two phases throughout the winter, ending in early March before the playoffs. Each team has a set training schedule for the year. Athletes focus on individual skating improvement, increasing stride length and stride frequency, proper skating biomechanics and overall anaerobic conditioning for hockey. Teams comprised of 15-18 athletes are broken into three pods of five or six athletes each to maximize one-on-one instruction.

Learn-2-skate: Athletic Republic helps young hockey players take their first stride with one of the most comprehensive learn-to-skate programs in the industry. We take young athletes through a series of at least (8) eight training sessions in a completely safe and fully monitored environment to teach them the fundamentals of skating. Our Hockey Performance Training emphasizes balance, control and proper skating mechanics while Learn-2-Skate athletes are safely harnessed on our patented Hockey Treadmill. Registration/performance Assessment
The assessment process begins with a test to establish a performance baseline by measuring the following key areas of athleticism: Movement Skills, Power and Strength, Efficiency. The test results are interpreted in relation to an athlete's physical development, gender, sport and position training goals and applied to develop an individualized performance sports training program. At the conclusion of a training program, Athletic Republic tests again to measure performance improvements and track progression against goals. Our entire athlete assessment process synchronizes video with performance results, setting a new testing standard that we have taken beyond our training centers to combines like the Army All-American Game National Combine. Thanks to our extensive database of test and performance information, athletes can compare their results against peers by geography, gender, age or sport to see where they rank. Super Running Treadmill
If you want to get faster and more explosive on the field or court, you have to teach your body to move faster than it knows how. The Athletic Republic Super Running Treadmill (RTM) ramps up from 0-28 mph in less than 3 seconds. Standard treadmills cannot produce the speed or stability the RTM provides. They are built for cushioning and offer only improvements in cardiovascular fitness. Using our sport-specific protocols, the RTM safely pushes athletes beyond their ground-based training limits by forcing them to work harder and run more efficiently to reach peak speeds and maintain them for longer durations. With inclines up to 40%, incline running on the RTM forces athletes to run with the same form of an Olympic Sprinter - high knee-drive, quick recovery, a stable mid-section and toes-up ground contact to minimize braking and maximize propulsion. Hockey Treadmill
The Athletic Republic Hockey Treadmill (HTM); with its patented, specially lubricated, ice-like surface, trains hockey players to become more powerful and efficient skaters. Athletes train in their skates. The HTM tilts to a 32% grade and reaches speeds up to 16 mph. Athletes can see themselves in a mirror and the trainer can stand next to them to coach improved skating mechanics. Scientific research proves that incline treadmill skating helps athletes produce more power on each stride versus rink skating. After just one Acceleration Hockey Training Program of 22-26 sessions over 6-8 weeks, athletes enhance their break away speed, develop quicker cuts, improve their power in the first three strides and gain overall conditioning. Translated to the ice, it all adds up to more shots on goal.
Plyo Press Machine
The Athletic Republic Plyo Press Machine (PPM) improves leg strength and explosive power. Its unique design allows athletes to take explosive power training to a higher level. The footplate angle puts the athlete in an athletic position to produce force through the balls of his/her feet - not the heels like a standard squat exercise. You compete in an athletic position, you need to train in those positions. The sled supports the low back and reinforces proper mechanics when lifting heavy weights or doing explosive jumps. Using an exclusive weight loading pattern, the PPM provides variable resistance that optimizes the weight load based on how the body works. Versus squats and hip sleds, the PPM is a safer and more effective way to train lower body explosive strength and power.
Plyo Floor
The Athletic Republic Plyo Floor (PF) is a cushioned wood surface with exclusive patterns and quick lock resistance cord hooks to maximize quickness and explosiveness while improving dynamic stability, essential for improving movement skills and overall athleticism. We employ tools like the AccuPower force platform to measure power output and stability during single leg squats, jumps, and hops. Coupled with resistance cords, this floor can dramatically improve explosive power, hip strength, balance and dynamic stability.
Pro Multi-hip
The Athletic Republic Pro Multi-Hip (PMH) improves key abdominal and hip muscle strength essential for improved performance. Resistance settings can be adjusted from less than 15 pounds for lateral movement patterns to 375 pounds (highest in the industry) for dynamic power movements. The PMH is versatile enough to accommodate athletes from 5 feet to 7 feet tall, who are both healthy and in rehabilitation for injury.

Proprietary Technology
Athletic Republic's proprietary technologies are next-generation training. Measuring explosive power, dynamic stability and symmetry, we analyze an athlete's reports against a central database called AIMS to provide a percentile ranking against the average produced by athletes throughout the network. Combined with advanced video technology, athletes see how they match-up with their peers as well as their progress from the first training session to the last. The result is a clear view of an athlete's improvement over time and ranking amongst his/her athletic peers.
Plyo Press Power Quotient
The Athletic Republic Plyo Press Power Quotient (3PQ) provides a quick and accurate way to functionally test lower body power output. It is more reliable than traditional gold standard power measurements like the Wingate Cycle Test. 3PQ measures the force an athlete exerts on a custom-built 3D force platform mounted to the Plyo Press. This allows trainers to accurately assess the lower body power output during movements specific to most sports. Athletic Republic Performance Trainers can measure an athlete's force and power output during single or both leg presses, jumps or even isometrically at a wide range of angles. Our proprietary 3PQ testing software analyzes the test results to compare the athlete's symmetry between legs, results against their peers in the AIMS database, and tracks progress. AIMS provides a percentile ranking of the athlete's effort against the average produced by other athletes in the database. The result is a clear view of what needs improvement.
Accupower
The Athletic Republic AccuPower is a portable six-component force plate that evaluates vertical or standing long jumps, drop-landings, hops, Olympic lifts and any other platform based exercise. It is designed with Hall-Effect sensors that accurately measure forces up to 2000 pounds. The proprietary software collects and analyzes the athlete's force and center of pressure data to accurately assess force and power output, rate of power development and jump height/length for each jump movement. DartPower software allows the integration of real-time Dartfish video and output from the AccuPower to provide an effective teaching and training tool. Several leading researchers have used the AccuPower in their studies.
Dartfish Video Technology
Over 80% of people are visual learners. This is why Athletic Republic incorporates Dartfish ProSuite video feedback into training protocols. It is essential to accelerating the process of learning sports skills and optimizing an athlete's training progress. Athletic Republic Performance Trainers use Dartfish to assist in athlete assessments and again during training to help fine tune technique. Video feedback in the training area provides athletes instant insights on technical form and efficiency. Video review includes varying speeds or even frame-by-frame slow motion that reveals more than the human eye can see. Athletic Republic’s Acceleration Training Superior to Traditional Ground-based Training
Study Finds Athletic Republic’s Acceleration Training Superior to Traditional Ground-based Training. The Athletic Republic-trained college football players made significantly greater improvement than the age-matched group of college football players who trained using ground-based training. Key results are a 2.5 inch increase in vertical jump and 0.22 second improvement in 40-yard dash times. This study was conducted by exercise science professor and college football coach, Pete Leno and the training staff at Dickinson State University in partnership with Athletic Republic to test the effectiveness of Athletic Republic’s Acceleration Training versus traditional ground-based training. Both groups completed the same 12 plyometric and 18 strength-training workouts per their assigned program. The only difference between the two programs was the use of Athletic Republic’s Super Running Treadmill and SprintCordsTM for the treadmill sprint start work. *denotes significant difference at the p is lesser than 0.01 level.

We offer individualized training programs, delivered in small groups with a 1:5 trainer to athlete ratio, which follow scientifically-based protocols comprised of 22-26 sessions spread over six to eight weeks. Over the years we've proven it takes this amount of time to adopt technique habits we establish and the body to absorb the full benefit of the specialized sport training.
