New England Cheer And Dance Competition
The Reggie Lewis Center is the number one track facility in the United States.
The field house, which has over 100,000 square feet, seats 3,000 spectators and will enable you to sit with your cheerleading teams in comfort. The separate warm up area contains three full size basketball courts. All other divisions will have 9 full mat strips.
Our competition has been the most successful one in New England because it is low stress and places the emphasis on fun! Every squad will win a trophy.
As technology allowed us to pioneer last year the oral critique of your team's performance will be emailed to you immediately following their performance by DJ Justin O'Hallaran. There will be no more than seven teams in any given division.
Our goal is to offer a level playing field, allowing teams with similar skills to compete against each other.
As you know your squad's routine elements, please examine your squad's routine closely to determine which category it belongs in this year.
Bronze level routines should be comprised primarily of stunts and pyramids performed at shoulder height or below and beginning level tumbling (ex. Cartwheels, round-offs, rolls).
Silver level routines should be comprised primarily of stunts and pyramids performed at shoulder height or extended on two legs and beginning to intermediate level tumbling (ex. some walkovers or handsprings). Single leg extended stunts are permitted but should be confined to pyramid structures and there should be hand-support during the majority of standing and running tumbling skills. Gold level routines should be comprised primarily of stunts and pyramids performed at extended levels and intermediate to advanced tumbling skills (ex. Many handsprings, some series of tumbling which includes flips).
Over 180 cheer and dance teams competed in our competition last year and we hope to have a similar turn out this year.
The competition will include: College, and multiple Dance and Step Divisions - High School and College. We will also be offering step divisions for all age divisions.
Each team will have the opportunity to warm up their stunts, pyramids and tumbling prior to the competition and have them checked out by a safety judge.
This will be done during a four minute time frame on a matted section of floor. Dance teams can warm up on the performing surface of their choice. Tentative check in, practice times and competition times for each division will be sent with your registration packet. Our web page will provide a listing of your team's exact arrival time, practice and competition time. All coaches must go to our website on Friday November 11th to see your exact times.
Professional USB Media Disk of your own team performing will be available to coaches only for $15 at the DJ station produced by XMT Productions

Each Step routine is limited to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Dance teams can register to perform their routine in the 'all styles' division
which offers points on the score sheet for many types of dance, or the 'all hip hop' division which will be scored with a different sheet focusing exclusively on hip hop elements. Teams are welcome to enter routines in both divisions if they choose to.
Rules, T-shirts, pre-order forms, directions, and permission slips will be sent with your information packet after you register.
College Divisions will include dance, all-girl and co-ed.
Rules
Basket tosses, twist cradles and inverted pyramids are not permitted in silver and bronze divisions, with the following exception
baskets and single twist cradles may be performed be LESS than half of stunt groups in the silver division. These skills are at the very top of the progression, considered to be some of the more difficult and high-risk stunts allowed. If your routine currently contains these particular skills but not enough other elite elements to warrant being in the gold division, it is very easy to adjust them. For example, instead of twisting on the cradle, try a toe-touch, or simple straight cradle for the day. Change some of your baskets to show-extensions, the count will be the same, no formation changes or anything will be necessary.
We will have level judges in the warm-up area this year to help ensure that all teams are in the appropriate divisions before you hit the competition floor.
Any post-performance concerns will be addressed privately between the coaching staff and head judge prior to the awards ceremony.
Examples of "less than half" for stunt groups
3 groups= 1 group may twist, 4 groups= 1 group may twist
5 groups= 2 groups may twist, 6 groups= 2 groups may twis
