The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation offers two beautiful regulation length nine hole golf courses situated in the hills above Pasadena. The Altadena Golf Course opened as an 18 hole private county club in 1910. Due to financial difficulties as a result of The Great Depression of 1932 the original club was sold in 1945. The county acquired sixty acres of the property and redesigned and built a par 36, 3000 yard nine hole facility.
