Bioluminescence Night Kayaking
Duration: 3 hours; $45; Imagine yourself paddling through illuminated waters of the Indian River. This is no fantasy tale, this is bioluminescence. Dinoflagellates are single-celled organisms common in marine environments and they are responsible for these "living lights." Each bioluminescent dinoflagellate flashes only a fraction of a second when disturbed by water movement, but its high concentration in the warm Indian River water creates beautiful bluish-white trails of light caused by any movement in the waters such as swimming fish and paddling kayakers. You'll kayak through this amazing natural phenomena and maybe even see a manatee while you do so. Experience this truly unique and luminous adventure.
