The workshop covers how color and brightness are created both in our eyes and in the digital world. Topics include color space, color gamut, sub sampling, bit depth, luminance, brightness, and gamma curves. To bring in more real world application, special attention is paid to the color systems and gamma modes used in the latest cameras.

This full-day workshop covers the many functions of the C300 and C500 including detailed instruction on camera operation, lens choice, production techniques, and aftermarket accessories. Emphasis is on developing an understanding of the camera sensor, recording format, lens choice, menu systems, and color profile creation. Canon's C300 & C500 Cinema EOS cameras are the evolution of their popular HDSLR cameras. Both cameras have been designed from the ground up for professional video use, and AbelCine has designed this workshop to really show what these cameras can do. In the first part of the course, AbelCine trainers will give a full introduction to the C300 and C500 including: sensor specifics, recording formats, output options, menu systems, assignable functions, and basic color control. In the second part, AbelCine trainers will demonstrate practical shooting examples, give an in-depth look at the camera's workflow, custom picture profiles, and the Canon Log shooting mode. This is a very hands-on part of the day, where attendees will be able to develop and fully understand the complexities of creating a look with the C300 and C500.

Learn about camera monitoring, and how to effectively use your camera in a multi-camera environment. Topics also include the use of external recorders, SDI specifics, and external audio syncing. Different camera systems will be demonstrated throughout the class.
