About Us
Get the best restaurant service from A.T. The Black & White in Little Falls, Minnesota. Whether you're looking to delve into a delectable dessert, such as our famous Black and White Express dessert, or you want to dig into a savory hamburger or turkey artichoke sandwich for lunch, we can serve you. For dinner we turn to our Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs to bring you the best steaks, seafood and pastas there are to offer. The dinner menu will change monthly so we can give you the freshest seasonal ingredients there are to offer.
A.T. The Black & White was built in 1931 and called The Black and White Hamburger Shop as a diner in the style of White Castle. It originally had 8 counter stools and 6 more stools were added to an additional counter by the window.
The Black and White has had only eight owners over its 80 year history. They are: The Tanners, Colombes, Houles, Zettels, Sherecks, Lyschiks, and Zimmermans. Steve Colombe owned it the longest, some 25 years from about 1950 to 1975. In 1992, Ron Lyschik expanded the diner into the vacant Jetka Hardware Store(where you sit now). After nearly 16 years of ownership Ron sold the restaurant to the current owners, Tomas and Amanda Zimmerman. It seats approximately 100 people and features a lot of the town's history and used library books. Also, one of the big attractions is the wall length murals done by a local artist.
